Transforming aumedo into a Leading Digital Hub for Eye Care: Comprehensive Website Redesign and Strategic SEO and Social Media Campaign

In this project, I led the transformation of aumedo into a premier online platform for patients with eye problems, eye specialists, opticians, eyeglass manufacturers, and prospective sunglass buyers. My goal was to completely redesign and restructure the website to cater effectively to these diverse target groups.

The challenge was to create a website that not only communicated clearly to each segment but also enhanced overall usability and user experience. Ensuring the site was SEO-ready was a critical part of this process. I developed and implemented a tailored SEO and social media strategy that dramatically increased organic search traffic. From an initial 100 users a month, the website experienced a surge to 10,000 users in approximately 8 months, marking a significant milestone in establishing aumedo as a leading information resource in the eye care industry.

Tasks

  • Management, steering and further development of various technical web projects (CMS, SEO, SEA)
  • Team leader SEO – leadership responsibility for the lnHouse SEO team, scheduling deployment of employees in the supervised projects (resource planning), training of new employees
  • Coordination and management of external SEO agencies, graphic designers and developers
  • Execution of topic, keyword, trend and competition analyses (SEO)
  • Conception, planning and implementation of digital marketing activities as well as their continuous optimization
  • Evaluation of key figures and creation of reports using reporting and tracking tools with specific recommendations for action (Google Analytics, Sistrix, XOVI)
  • Responsible support, maintenance and (further) development of existing and new web projects of our customers
  • Creation, optimization and further development of company websites and landing pages
  • Administration of WordPress templates and plugins including control and monitoring of updates
  • Selection, implementation, administration and maintenance of the content management system Magenta
  • Content maintenance on the website (CMS) for texts, graphics and AV media (Word press, Contentbird)
  • Close cooperation and exchange with the content department
  • Continuous optimization of the customer experience on the aumedo website
  • Planning and execution of A/B and usability tests on various end devices with different browsers and deriving recommendations for action
  • Graphic conception and development of banners (Photoshop)
  • Frontend adaptations in HTML and CSS
  • Support and monitoring of the connection of tracking parameters for Google Analytics, Google Adwords, Sing, Affiliate Marketing
  • Design and implementation of newsletters with the support of appropriate software (Mailchimp)
  • Implementation and realization of data queries (Easyfeedback)
  • Close and trusting cooperation with the management board
  • Support of the management in the operative daily business, e.g. creation of presentations
    (Powerpoint, Photoshop)
